Lutein and carotinoids for combating eyes, eyesight and age-related macular degeneration

Japanese scientists have recently determined the blood serum levels of various antioxidants to determine the most important ones that reduce the risk of macular degeneration. They compared the difference in the blood levels of those who did not have the disease with those who did. When a doctor recommends lutein for the eye, it usually reduces the risk of macular degeneration or the resulting blindness.
There are several types of macular degeneration. Illness may occur in young people. Research has shown that antioxidant levels have not been associated with macular degeneration at an early stage of life. This type of disease is most likely due to genetics. But it was found that low antioxidant levels are associated with age-related macular degeneration or AMD.
Researchers were aware of lutein's common recommendations against AMD. This includes lutein for the eyes as a member of the carotenoid family such as alpha and beta carotene, lycopene, zeaxanthin and beta cryptoxanthin. Typically, they are added as a mixed natural carotenoid, but the amount of lycopene, zeaxanthin and lutein should be listed separately. A good dose of mixed carotenoids is 5000 IU per day.
Consumers should be aware that most additions to the market do not contain natural ingredients. Most beta-carotene is synthetic in the market. In research on nutrients like lutein, researchers use high-quality natural nutrients. In some cases, special meals are used. For example, in one of the first studies on lutein, a doctor had to eat full pancake food daily. The spinach offers a variety of mixed carotenoids.
