What is Essential Oil? Overview of essential oils
Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids that contain volatile aroma components from certain plants. Unlike the so-called "oils", it is not a greasy feeling at all. Most of them are clear, but some are amber or yellow. The color changes from the type of plant oil.
These oils are prepared by extraction from a given plant species. It can be obtained from many different parts of the plant, such as the flowers, seeds, stems, bark, leaves, roots and tree of the plant. There are many different ways of extraction, the most common being steam distillation. Some other methods include carbon dioxide extraction, compression and solvent extraction.
Essential oils are sold as pure oil, only from a kind of vegetable oil or a mixture of several different oils. Buying mixed oils saves you from having to buy and mix each one separately. Buying all of the oil separately can be quite expensive, so shopping mixes can save you money and time.
The disadvantage, however, is that there is no control over the mixing ratios and which oils are used in the mixture. The mixture cannot be mixed with other oils unless you know what oils were used. Some oils cannot be mixed with each other, so it's a good idea to know what can and cannot be mixed before mixing.
Essential oils should not be confused with perfume or fragrance oils. Essential oils are extracted directly from real plants. This means that the oil contains the true essence of the plant, including the therapeutic value of all the plants.

The most common way to achieve these benefits is by inhaling the oil and applying it directly to the skin. The easiest way to inhale with a diffuser. When applied directly to the skin, it is usually diluted as the entire concentrate oil irritates the skin.
