Opportunities for Lasik Astigmatism

Finally, the fixation of astigmatism on glass eye surgery was accomplished. Many years of research and clinical tests were needed to achieve this. In order to understand this path and understand how astigmatism can be eliminated, we need to look at some basics. We need to understand astigmatism, its manifestations, and how lasers treat asthma and astigmatism. Astigmatism is the state of the eye where the light rays are concentrated at several points. With the perfect eye, the beams converge at a single point in the macula. This creates a sharp image. In the eye of astigmatism, the point is rather called a blob and the "strum" conglomerate. In practice, this means that the picture is blurry. The brain does not understand this blurred image. It sends signals to the eye's muscles to change the focus to sharpen the image. This futile practice leads to fatigue, headaches and red eyes

Astigmatism occurs when the horizontal and vertical curvatures of the eye are not similar. This form of imperfection may occur in the cornea (the purest front of the eye) or in the inner structures of the eye

So far, the identification, quantity and exact spread of astigmatism was a challenge. Recent progress in mapping the shape of the cornea and the wavefront of the eye is a step forward. The wavefront is the sum of the imperfections of the eye. You can best crawl it with an iDesign wavescan studio tool. 1287 light beams are sent to his eyes. They go through the eye to the retina and bounce back to a computer detector. Quickly analyze the shape and calculate the exact correction along the 1287 zones to get the perfect shape. This information is stored on the flash drive. The flash drive transmits information to the latest generation of lasers.

Older lasers used a wide beam, meaning every pulse can only handle 6mm. The latest cutting-edge laser beams can be reduced to smaller zones of 1 mm or less. The shape of the beam can fit the information from the iDesign wavescan studio. These lasers are able to detect rotation of the eye and to monitor the eye when transmitting the beam. Thus, vertical and horizontal planes can be treated differently.

Here's something you probably still did not know. What we have recognized is that apart from astigmatism there are other aberrations that are of higher order abnormalities. Higher disorders are responsible for the reflection and blurred edges of the objects. These can not be corrected for glasses or older laser radiation. The good news is that they can be reduced even with the new advanced technology. Therefore, night glare and blisters occur significantly.

Corneal topographic laser technology, such as Nidek and Contoura Catz, work similar to Alcon; but these are limited to mapping the cornea only. The iDesign maps designed by Johnson and Johnson represent the cornea and internal eye disorders. All three are FDA-approved technologies that have benefited a lot from consumers.

Modern iDesign wavefront laser technology is much better than eyeglasses and contact lenses for astigmatism. Lasers can heal astigmatism and get sharp vision.

If you have been waiting for the technology to remedy astigmatism, time has come. Everything is the best.
